    Why are you here?

Just finished reading Ishmael, wanted to know more...

Any other personal information/resources/advice/ideas to share?

I'm a 46 year old musician and martial artist with many 'tribal' ties. These are not hobbies for me, but rather 'my life'. I was also taught how to garden organically and care for animals by my 90+ year old swedish grandmother. I'm very much on the 'fringe' of society, but the influence my interests (particularly music and martial arts) have on others has kept me in touch with a society I would have otherwise rejected almost completely. In the last ten years, I've been almost coerced into various teaching positions by students seeking knowledge. I'm not sure what the future holds, (for any of us) but I'm becoming much more upbeat from interacting with students. Besides music, martial arts and gardening, I'm not quite sure what I have to offer, but some of my students seem to think I'm withholding special knowledge! I believe a teacher is validated as such by his students (certainly not by some piece of paper!) and am presently on a quest to discover what I'm qualified to teach.
